Steven Sizemore graduated from Western Carolina University and Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, Campbell University and was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1991. He practiced from 1991 – 2001 with a larger Asheville firm. He re-joined two of his former partners, Ike Northup and Beth McConnell, in 2001.
Concentrating his practice in the field of Workers’ Compensation defense, Steven represents insurance carriers, self-insured employers and uninsured employers in matters before the North Carolina Industrial Commission. In addition, he consults with employers regarding insurance needs and compliance with the North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Act.
Steven oversees the Workers’ Compensation Department of Northup, McConnell & Sizemore. Our Workers’ Compensation team recognizes and appreciates the impact of the workers’ compensation system on the operations of individual businesses and insurance carriers. We assist in implementation of necessary protocols, proper claims handling, and provide legal defenses in a unified approach with you to facilitate effective and efficient use of your resources.
Community involvement is important to Steven. He serves as the Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Asheville, Vice Chairman of the Buncombe County Board of Education, and Chairman of the Soqua District of the Daniel Boone Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He and his wife are the proud parents of two young ladies and one young gentleman.
