After graduating from Purdue University in 2000, she spent almost three years working for FirmLogic, a litigation support company, as a Medical Research Analyst. She then attended Norman Adrian Wiggins Schools of Law at Campbell University, graduating in 2006, magna cum laude. She was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar the same year. Katie practiced with a mid-sized Raleigh firm, Manning, Fulton & Skinner, P.A., from 2006 through October 2011. There, she focused her practice on medical malpractice defense, professional liability, contract and real estate disputes, and appellate practice.

Katie joined Northup McConnell & Sizemore in October 2011 where she concentrates her practice on medical malpractice defense, insurance defense, and general liability cases. Katie takes pride in representing doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers against medical malpractice claims. Her science and medical background enable her to work effectively with experts and develop solid causation defenses.

Having grown up in the flat land of Indiana, Katie appreciates everything Asheville has to offer. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, exercising, hiking, local festivals, and, most importantly, spending quality time with her husband, three children, and handsome Golden Retriever, Brinkley.
